Mean mMASI fell 12.25% with Cysteo 5% and 10% with 2% kojic acid plus vitamin C; the between-group difference was not statistically significant.

The 2015 and 2018 placebo trials each list one author affiliated with Scientis Pharma SA; Scientis Pharma SA and Sharaje SA supplied the cysteamine and placebo creams. In the 2021 modified-Kligman comparison, Scientis SA supplied the cysteamine cream. The 2022 hydroquinone/ascorbic-acid comparison lists one author affiliated with Scientis SA. The 2025 kojic-acid study lists four Glenmark employees; Glenmark supplied study materials and assisted with data collation, analysis, and manuscript preparation. One additional author was employed by Mascot Spincontrol India Pvt. Ltd., which supported the study’s clinical operations.

How to use

Thirty minutes. Four clear steps.

  1. 01

    Start with dry skin. Do not wash immediately before applying.

  2. 02

    Apply a thin layer once daily, in the morning or evening. Leave on for 30 minutes.

  3. 03

    Wash off with a gentle cleanser and pat dry. A warming sensation or mild tingling may occur and can last up to 30 minutes.

  4. 04

    Moisturize. During the day, use broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.

For external use only. Do not apply to mucosal areas or broken, infected, or irritated skin. Follow the product packaging.

Illuminate Rx grew out of Dr. Brandon Kirsch’s clinical practice at Kirsch Dermatology in Naples, Florida. It became a favorite among existing patients. We wanted to make the cream available beyond the practice, so you do not have to live near Naples to purchase it.

Illuminate Rx is affiliated with Kirsch Dermatology and was founded by board-certified dermatologist Brandon Kirsch, MD.
